Discovering Jay Rosen

For Article: Tracking News "Ripples" in the Public Conversation

I have just discovered about Jay Rosen and his ideas in Poynter. Thanks to this item. I like his PressThink blog especially.

The introduction goes -
"We need to keep the press from being absorbed into The Media. This means keeping the word press, which is antiquated. But included under its modern umbrella should be all who do the serious work in journalism, regardless of the technology used." I believe in this.

The titles of his entries alone make me stand up and notice. Foremost of these are the following:

The People Formerly Known as the Audience
Laying the Newspaper Gently Down to Die
Bloggers vs. Journalists is Over
The Abyss of Observation Alone.
Blogging is About Making and Changing Minds
No One Owns Journalism

I have bookmarked the pages on Jay Rosen. They will make a fine library for me that I know I can enjoy for many days on end. I see that he has been blogging since 2003.
